How do I take care of my new leather furniture from SINN Living?

Leather care and stain removal

Appropriate and regular care maintains the practical value and beauty of your new upholstered furniture from SINN Living. We will send you detailed care instructions together with your furniture purchase. Please read them carefully, as different types of leather and stains require special treatment. It is also very important to us that your furniture is preserved for a long time. Suitable products are therefore available as a compact SINN care set. Otherwise we recommend the care products of LCK-Vertriebs GmbH. However, even here and in general, always check all cleaning and care products in advance on the leather sample that we have sent you with our SINN Living furniture - or on a concealed spot according to the instructions.

Avoid rubbing vigorously to remove stains that have become embedded in the leather. This can damage the surface. Solvents such as turpentine, stain remover or petrol can also make the stains bigger. Care products such as shoe or cosmetic cream and floor wax are also unsuitable. A change in the surface can also be caused by direct sunlight or by standing too close to the heating system. This can cause the leather to dry out or fade. Make sure to wear colour-fast clothing.

Day-to-day care

Take care of your leather furniture by regularly removing dust for two to three months using a vacuum cleaner, cloth or brush. In direct sunlight the leather can be treated with a special UV-protective care. Cleaning and care with our care set should not take place more than once or twice a year.

If your furniture is precious, more delicate aniline or semi-aniline leather, it should be treated with a special aniline leather care product every six months and once a year with an aniline leather impregnation.

Stain removal and leather cleaning

Generally, liquids as well as food or grease should be immediately absorbed from the leather surface with an absorbent cloth. Rubbing should be avoided. Grease stains usually do not need to be treated any further, as they are absorbed into the leather and at best are no longer visible at some point. For other remaining stains on the leather you should use special leather cleaning and care products. You can then re-impregnate the upholstered furniture.

For general cleaning of your furniture, please let only a specialist touch your precious leather furniture.

How do I take care of my new fabric furniture from SINN Living?

Textile care and stain removal

You will receive detailed care instructions and a textile sample for your new upholstered furniture from SINN Living. Please read the instructions carefully, as different types of fabric and stains require special care and cleaning. In general, always check all cleaning and care products on the sample in advance - or on a concealed area according to the instructions. Make sure to wear colour-fast clothing.

Day-to-day care

To extend the life of textile cover fabrics, they should be regularly vacuumed with the upholstery nozzle of the vacuum cleaner. Sensitive fabrics can also be brushed off with a clothes brush. The fabric can then be wiped with a slightly moistened microfibre or leather cloth in the direction of the stroke.

Stain removal and leather cleaning

Damp stains should be removed immediately with an absorbent cellulose cloth or blotting paper. Use a spoon for solid, dried components. Residues can be treated with a diluted ph-neutral carpet or upholstery shampoo. Never use bleach, ammonia, soap or similar strong cleaning agents. To clean the upholstery, you should use a white, damp cloth, apply a little detergent to it and gently dab from the edge to the inside so that the stain does not get any bigger. Never pour cleaning agent directly onto the upholstery fabric and do not rub too hard, otherwise the surface will change! Then dry with a dry cloth to avoid dry edges. After complete drying, the upholstered furniture can be re-treated with the upholstery vacuum cleaner and a fabric brush.

In the case of wool, cotton, linen, silk and viscose fabrics, stains should be removed by a cleaning company - just as with general cleaning.
